Captain Barbossa – The full brother to Roosters Wrangler, standing at a majestic 15.2 hands Captain Barbossa (“Jack”) was purchased by Silver Spurs and became our #1 prospect for the 2008 NRHA Futurity after Cromology’s injury. Unfortunately a freak accident in the shower stall took out his right eye. 2008 was a rough year for Silver Spurs! We took Jack to the Futurity anyway but his turns and rollbacks on his blind side were just too choppy and he did not make it past the first go.
Our assistant trainer took Jack over and has worked with him over the years and he now is beginning to do well in the Rookie Professional and Limited Open Classes. His NRHA earnings are $825. Like China and Crome, here is a horse that was destined for greatness but because of injury never had the chance. If you are looking for a stallion that will throw off height, talent, athleticism and a willingness to train regardless of the obstacles – Captain Barbossa is the stallion for you. |
