Due to the ever increasing popularity of Reining worldwide the demand and value of premium quality Quarter Horses for reining competitions is increasing at unprecedented rates. As the prize money at NRHA reining events continues to increase, the demand and price for quality Quarter Horse Reiners that are or have the potential/pedigree to become champions will continue to increase around the world.
Silver Spurs is positioned perfectly to take advantage of this opportunity. This clearly evidenced by the fact that in December 2008 (in the midst of a worldwide recession) a 2-year old colt sired by Million Dollar Sire - Boomernic (owned by Silver Spurs Equine) sold for the highest price in the history of the NRHA 2-year old sale. The colt sold for a staggering $240,000 to a European investment group.
Just a few years ago a reining horse's competitive years were limited to its 3rd through 6th years. Thanks to the Internationalization of reining, reining horses now have a very good earning potential after the age of six. There are hundreds of thousands of dollar available in World Equestrian Games competitions. These competitions are open to horses of 7 to 12 years of age exclusively, further increasing the value of a reining horse. Further, reining in slated to become the only western saddle sport in the 2016 summer Olympics. In order to compete, the horse must be a minimum of 9 years of age. This will only increase the demand for reining horses and their value. |

The numbers have proven that this demand is going to increase even more dramatically in the future and with Silver Spurs champion stallions, and champion sired brood mares its elite line of quarter horses will be in demand at premium prices throughout the world.

The champion reining horses of today trace their blood lines to only 18 sires. All of these sires are of United States origin and only 11 of these elite sires are alive today or are actively breeding (Silver Spurs owns two of the best, Boomernic and Conquistador Whiz). In order to compete on an international level the other countries can only get their horses from one place, the United States. Case in point, first prize at the Italian Futurity is now $250,000, which is $150,000 higher than the US NRHA Futurity! Europe wants the US to know that they will pay whatever it takes to get the best in Europe.
This creates a very interesting investment opportunity for those that are able to procure the best reining horse sires and mares along with a breeding and training facility to breed and sell potential champions.
Silver Spurs Equine, managed by Michael Miola (a pioneer in the mutual fund industry since the 1970's and Co-Chairman of NorthStar Financial Services Group), is the first equine facility developed solely for this purpose. Utilizing Michael's ability to create quality investment product, Silver Spurs offers investment partnerships specifically designed to be a viable alternative investment product for individual investors and hedge funds that can provide returns in excess of current market returns.
Silver Spurs syndicates are much different than a typical race horse syndicate. Instead of creating a syndicate around a prospect horse and hoping for the best, Silver Spurs purchases champion sires, the offspring of champion sires (both colts and mares) and creates sophisticated breeding programs combining the champion bloodlines to create elite offspring that will command very high prices as weanlings, yearling's, and 2 - 3 year-olds. Through this process of creating and selling elite offspring, investors in a Silver Spurs syndicate are provided with an annuity generating returns for many years. However, Silver Spurs does it in a very unique way. When Silver Spurs buys a prospect yearling horse that has the blood lines that it wants to put into the competition arena and add to its breeding program, Silver Spurs will purchase the horse with its own capital, put it in training for 6 to 8 months, and only when the prospect has proven that it has what it takes to be a champion will Silver Spurs Manager, Michael Miola, consider the horse "Investment Grade" and syndicate the horse to investors. This puts most of the risk on Silver Spurs and eliminates most of the risk to the investors. |
|
|
| That is the Silver Spurs way. Similar to incubating a mutual fund to determine if its investment strategy will succeed under actual market conditions, Michael puts his own capital at risk to make sure the horses it syndicates are proven before offering them to investors |

| CURRENT SYNDICATES |
|
| Silver Spurs purchased Big Red One RC (sired by Peptoboonsmal and out of Lightning Lil Dulce) and Smoking Whiz (sired by Topsail Whiz and out of Glendas A Smokingun) on April 8, 2009. Since then, they have both been in training at Silver Spurs by Brett Stone. Brett believes that these are two of the finest horses he has ever ridden since Boomernic.
Big Red One RC is pure cutting bred and Smoking Whiz is pure reining bred. This creates some very exciting competition and breeding possibilities. Therefore, Silver Spurs has created an exciting syndicate that will combine both competition and breeding. |
| Purpose/Strategy of the Syndicate: |
Train both colts to compete in the 2010 Futurities focusing on the NRHA Futurity. Once Smoking Whiz has proven himself as a three year old the Syndicate intends to sell him in January 2011 at a significantly enhanced value commensurate with his future earning/breeding potential. The Syndicate will retain Big Red One RC (the "Stallion") to compete as a 4 and 5 year old in the various high stakes NRHA Derbies' and Open competitions. Silver Spurs will then develop a breeding program to sell the Stallion's semen to third party mare owners. Silver Spurs anticipates that it will take two (2) breeding seasons to develop the Stallion's "breeding book" in both the reining and cutting disciplines. At the end of the second breeding season, the syndicate intends to sell the Stallion to either a third party or to a new breeding syndicate to be started by Silver Spurs at a price commensurate with the value of his "breeding book".
Capital to be Raised:
$600,000, plus monthly capital calls as needed to cover all maintenance and training costs.
Expected Duration of Syndicate:
Six (6) years.
Potential Return - 225% |
