Captain Barbossa – The full brother to Roosters Wrangler, standing at a majestic 15.2 hands Captain Barbossa (“Jack”) was purchased by Silver Spurs and became our #1 prospect for the 2008 NRHA Futurity. Unfortunately a freak accident in the shower stall took out his right eye. We took Jack to the Futurity anyway but his turns and rollbacks on his blind side were just too choppy and he did not make it past the first go.
Our assistant trainer took Jack over and has worked with him over the years and he did well in the Rookie Professional and Limited Open Classes. His NRHA earnings are $825. Here is a horse that was destined for greatness but because of injury never had the chance.
