Unfortunately China came down with a bad case of ulcers that prevented him from competing in the Futurity and those ulcers eventually turned into colitis. China had to undergo a five hour operation where the surgeons removed over 5 feet of his large intestine and took over a year to recover. Even though China fully recovered the operation had taken its toll. China would never be the open champion he was bred and trained to become. But China loves to compete and he has become Michelle’s #1 non-pro horse. Together they have won over $1,200 in non-pro competitions.
